What is the Spear Programme?

UK youth unemployment has hit an eleven-year high. Almost a million young people aged 16-24 are not in work or education right now including an even more worrying 600,000 ‘economically inactive’ who aren’t seeking change. This is something that directly or indirectly affects us all. 

The Spear Programme is award-winning training that has been externally verified as among the most effective in the UK at tackling youth unemployment. More than 11,000 young people have joined the Spear Programme since it started with just one centre in Hammersmith in 2003. There are currently 18 Spear centres across the UK and 75% of those who complete the full programme not only enter work or education but are still there a year later. 

The Future  

Resurgo is working to extend its reach to the most deprived areas of the UK; ambitious goals over the next 12 months include piloting a first regional hub, in Leeds, to widen our reach in the North of England and open 3 more Spear centres bringing the total to 21.
